The 42-color Double Stack palette is one that I've been wanting to try for a long time, after hearing great things about it. It retails for around $24.95 at Coastal Scents, and comes with 42 matte shades, although some shades have a subtle hint of sheen. There are 10 blushes underneath the eyeshadows, along with some application tools. Those of you on a tight budget, check out swatches and a review to see if this palette is for you...

A few of my lovely makeup loving friends on Twitter made a huge mistake by telling me about a really great sale on the Walgreen's website -- don't they know I have little to no self-control?? Seeing as how the closest Walgreen's is about 25 minutes away (and I'm far too lazy to make that trip), I bought a few inexpensive makeup items from the website and received my package today. I bought mostly Wet-n-Wild items because they never have a great selection of the brand at my local CVS -- womp! Anyway, I got two of the Wet-n-Wild Color Icon eyeshadow palettes in Vanity and Lust. Oh, did I mention they were only $2.49?

Smokey eyes are probably the most popular way to pimp your eyelids. There are so many ways to smoke out your eye -- and not look like a panda in the process. Insert the NYX Winter in Moscow Smokey Look palette ($19.50); a handbook sized folding palette with a mirror, 2 blushes and 5 lip colors on one side, and 14 eyeshadows and applicators on the other side. I received this item to review from my good friend in lipstick, Linda. She asked that I review it so here we go :)

Just a heads up -- the elusive, gorgeous and hard-to-find Naked Palette by Urban Decay is now available at ULTA Beauty! I ordered mine, so if you keep missing out at Sephora or Urban Decay's own website, scurry on over to ULTA
and pick one of these babies up :) I did call my nearest Ulta to see if they had these in stock at the store, but they didn't. So before you assume they're at the actual Ulta store, call first to check.

(updated 8/21/10 w/ new swatches!) When my parents and I pulled up into their driveway today, my mom said "There's a package on the doorstep" and I just knew it was mine. I walked up to it, saw the HAUTELOOK tape wrapped around the small brown box and literally hit a Mariah Carey note of excitement. I knew exactly what it was! I grabbed my dog, tossed my box in the passenger seat and sped home to open my little box of joy in the form of Rock & Republic blushes ($40 each). I didn't order these directly from the Rock & Republic website...instead I got them half price on Hautelook! *poplocks with passion and conviction*
