The Accidental Beauty

I am a complete sucker for bright, bold "in yo face" colors...so you know good and damn well I had to pick up some of the candy from the Dare to Wear collection by MAC. Sooo pretty, I'm all teeth right now, see? --> :D Anyway, I didn't buy everything, but I did get a handful of stuff to play with. I adore color, so this collection was right up my alley.

Better late than never right? To be honest I wanted to wait until I received my Stereo Rose MSF before I did this post just because I didn't wanna have to break this into two pieces. I felt this In The Groove collection was just okay -- I only bought five items. I already had two of the MSF's (Petticoat and Comfort), but not the "star" of the show, Stereo Rose. I heard about Stereo Rose a couple years ago and even back then, MSF starved folks everywhere were foaming at the mouths, selling their homes and children to get MAC to re-release it. When MAC first put it on the website, it sold out in like two hours. I missed out -- womp. Then a few days ago they put it back up on the website only to have it sell out again in less than an hour -- but this time I got mine ;)

Talk about long overdue! I know I'm later than FEMA posting this, but there are several reasons I waited so long. I'll spare you those, and just get down to business. As most of you know, MAC released a much anticipated Summer collection called To the Beach around two weeks ago -- full of typical summery shades. Beautiful bronze colors, electric greens, cool corals, etc. One of the most coveted items from the collection literally sold out within three hours...and left a lot of people high and dry.

You ever get bitten by that "Dang, if I don't buy this now...I'm gonna have a hard time finding it later"-bug? Well, I have a rash from that bug and the bite-marks to prove it. A few days ago I went to the MAC website and randomly clicked their Goodbyes link and saw a gang of items on the chopping block -- it's a sad sight! Tons of eyeshadows, lipsticks, glosses and more waiting to be adopted by you. I didn't buy a ton of stuff, but I did pick up a few items I've been eye'ing for the past few months but didn't wanna buy when they first came out. I still see about four more things I'm gonna have to grab before they're gone and then sold online for crazy high crackhead prices. I'm not gonna review any of what I bought right now, but I will post descriptions and tiny snippets of my initial thoughts...

You know that Lady Gaga song 'Beautiful Dirty Rich'? The part when she goes "Bang bang bang...bang bang bang"? Well that's what I sing in my head when I see these new Superglasses from MAC. When I heard about the Superglasses, and saw photos of them, I just knew I HAD to have these. An amped up version of the popular Dazzleglasses? Sign me the hell up! I absolutely LOVE the Dazzleglasses, they are probably my favorite "gloss" product from MAC. I never wear them alone really, except maybe Love Alert because it's so pigmented, but I love putting a tiny bit of it on top of my lipstick to really jack up the drama. Well, if you really want some 'Real Housewives of MAC Cosmetics' drama on your lips, cue the Superglass...

I am so so so glad that the new MAC Prêt-à-Papier collection was as underwhelming as it was. I can't afford to drop too much money on these seemingly-weekly collections MAC puts out. Sheesh! I've learned that no matter how fabulous a collection sounds and may look from afar, you always wanna swatch the products in the store to see what you're getting. The blushes from the collection weren't anything special to me, none of the lipsticks screamed "YOU MUST HAVE ME!!", and the lipglasses were pretty...but I only picked up one. C-thru was repromoted, but it's permanent so you can buy that anytime, and Fold and Tuck is gorgeous...but it looks like other lipglasses I already have. Womp.
