These are my favorite eyeshadows that I own, brand’wise. To me, they’re everything an eyeshadow should be — smooth, silky, richly pigmented, non-chalky, long-lasting, blendable, buildable, and beautiful. Rock & Republic totally nailed the formula, it’s gorgeous and these eyeshadows have the best texture. I really do love all of these, and feeling rather foolish after saying just last year, “Ehh, I don’t need anymore eyeshadows…I’m not interested in these at all”. Welp! That was a lie LOL!

All eyeshadows were swatched with a MAC 252 brush, using Lorac Behind the Scenes eye primer as a base. I’m gonna try my best to describe the colors and finish of each eyeshadow I have here…don’t laugh..

• Fatalistic – smokey matte charcoal black

• Fuel – shimmery sunshine gold
• Envy – satin smokey green (similar to MAC’s Humid eyeshadow)

So, should you buy these? Well, they’re on sale right now for just $14 $7 each…so my answer for you would be “Heck yes!”. Right now they’re $7.50 cheaper than a MAC eyeshadow and double the product, so they’re MORE than worth it. If you have room for these gorgeous little darlings then I think you’ll be pretty darn happy with your purchase. I will be buying the rest of them over the course of the sale, hopefully. If I don’t buy them all, I will definitely get a good amount lol. I’m completely sold on Rock & Republic, they’ve proven to be a phenomenal brand with incredible sales!

Rock & Republic’s lip glosses are different from any product I own. They almost feel like a liquid lipstick but aren’t anywhere near as drying as your typical liquid lipstick. The product feels great on, and they’re nicely pigmented and opaque. I really love that the doe-foot applicator wand doesn’t soak up too much product, so you’re not slathering too much gloss on your lips. All of these colors here are very women-of-color friendly (if you’re not a chicken ), but they’d look amazing on anyone. I’m gonna try my best to describe the colors here:

• Mistress – golden rose with shimmer
• Loudmouth – creamy muted bubble-gum pink
• Tyrant – creamy reddish brown
• Sexy Beast – golden deeper rose with shimmer
• Hot Sauce – golden peach/tangerine with shimmer
• Cougar – creamy neutral red

You can sheer them out or build them up. Most of the colors (as I’m typing this) are gone but they should restock soon — at least they usually do during these sales. At this very second, Cougar is my favorite — being the red lip fanatic that I am. That lil baby is FIERCE! I love them all though, they’re fabulous — don’t sleep!

They come in these slim canisters (same height as a MAC Fix + bottle) with a pump that you have to activate by pushing either the end of a paper clip or safety pin into the hole and push while pressing the pump down. After that, it pumps normally. Light pressure is needed to release the product, it’s sensitive — but it dispenses the perfect amount for your entire face.

The tinted primer smells like sunscreen because of the SPF (a smell I secretly love lol), but the smell goes away soon after application. I use my fingers to apply, and it blends in very well and leaves my skin nice and smooth. I haven’t experienced any breakouts from it. As you can see from my swatches, the illuminizer is a shade lighter but it matches my face perfectly (my hand is darker than my face). It does indeed give you a nice glowy sheen. The primer does seem to help keep some of the oil at bay — but please note that my skin is considerably less oily since I’ve been using the Clarisonic. I still get oily just not as gross lol. The illuminizer does provide a nice medium-light coverage, but I have only used it to highlight certain areas of my face so far.

I’ve been pretty lucky guessing my color matches from the Rock & Republic site so far, taking a gamble each time I purchase something. If you know your own skin tone pretty well, it’s actually not as hard to shop from them online as it is most other cosmetic lines. I would actually say that their swatches are pretty accurate for the most part — at least for me.

I honestly don’t use primers each time I apply my makeup, so I don’t really buy them that often. I do have several and they all seem to work the same for me. However, I couldn’t resist this sale lol. If you’re a primer junkie and curious about these products I would say try them out…they might still be on sale (try using code ROCKCOSMETICS for 50% off). If they’re not on sale, they’re very expensive on their own. Definitely a splurge item.

For your reference, my foundation shades…

They come in a variety of shades that should suit most skin tones — although whatever you see on the site is all they have left. What I really love is that although this powder is a shade lighter than me, it doesn’t show up that way. It actually disappears into my skin leaving virtually no obvious traces of color, making it very blendable. I don’t look chalky or cakey or ashy at all. So if you’re shopping for one of these and you’re not sure what your shade will be, just pick whatever you feel is the closest according to the swatches on their site (which aren’t too far off) and I bet it’ll work.

The powder itself is super luxurious and fine, so it almost acts as a translucent setting powder. It’s great for touching up the face after an oil spill lol. There’s virtually no scent to these, which I like. I have moderately sensitive skin, and this powder hasn’t irritated me at all. I absolutely love the packaging — it looks expensive (and it is), but getting this powder for 50% off is fab.

Rock & Republic has burst into the makeup world heavily since their stuff has been on sale for up to 60% off. Beauty fanatics everywhere have been buying all of their inventory up like the end of the world was near. But who can blame them? These products are incredible you guys, you’re really getting your money’s worth. Their blushes are now my hands-down favorite to use (sorry NARS) — I still love my NARS and MAC blushes, but if something is better for me then it just is. Maybe one day I’ll slow down on my R&R blushes and start showing love to my beloved NARS and MAC blushes again. Oh! — I usually carry around my Urban Decay De-slick Mattifying powder, but since I’ve gotten this I haven’t had it in my makeup bag for almost two weeks. See how shady one can be when the grass is a lil greener? *hangs head in shame* I need my ass kicked…

Isn’t Ban This! pretty over Go For It? I love that combo. You can use any colors you want for this look, you don’t have to use the exact same stuff I used. Any base color close enough to your skin-tone but just a shade or two lighter will work for the lid, and anything dark will go great in your crease and outer-v. This was a great look for my insane Saturday, and applying it on top of the paint pot only helped it last longer. If you’re into bold lip colors, I highly recommend Go For It with Ban This! over it. It’s a gorgeous combination that I feel anyone with guts can get away with. Remember, just because you want to wear a neutral eye look doesn’t mean it has to look boring

Rock and Republic is a high-end clothing, accessory and cosmetic line headed up by the always fabulous Victoria Beckham (The chick from the Spice Girls who was always pointing…at..nothing ). Her cosmetics are known for their rich color and pigmentation and beautiful packaging. These very large blushes are available in 10 shades (all with sexually-charged names lol), so you’re bound to find one that suits you.

Each compact arrives in a round case with the Rock & Republic logo printed inside, cradling each blush safely. Inside is a highly reflective (and fingerprint loving) metal compact with the beautifully intertwined Rock & Republic logo on top. It’s really pretty ya’ll…Every blush weighs in at 9 grams, just one gram short of a MAC Mineralize Skinfinish — and you know how huge those are. When you take the size, national price average for high-end blushes, and the intense pigmentation into account — these blushes are actually a steal.

LET’S DO A LITTLE MATH

For example, a NARS blush will cost you $26 for 4.5 grams of product. The Rock & Republic blushes are 9 grams (almost the same amount of two NARS blushes) and therefore $11 cheaper. I understand your reservations though (if you have any), because dropping that much money on just one product is still in your head and you probably cant appreciate the value at the present moment. Bottom line, these are almost twice the size of a NARS blush and still cheaper than two NARS blushes…so the price really isn’t terrible.

I applied these blushes a tad on the heavy side. You have to use a very light hand with these to avoid looking like that midget wooden Jigsaw doll from those terrible Saw movies — you know the dude with the red clown cheeks. You don’t have to run your brush back and forth thru these blushes, just tap the brush softly on the top of the product — no friction — and I promise you that you’ll have picked up plenty for a natural flush of color.

The colors I own so far are as follows (along with a description of each color, as best described as possible lol):

• All Nighter: reddened orange with gold shimmer (think a redder version of NARS Taj Mahal)
• Bedroom: warm rosy peach matte (this one looks the most natural on my skin tone — love it)
• Immoral: super bright coral matte (this one also looks beautiful on my skin tone)
• Lust: warm pink with gold shimmer (an NC44/NW43 version of NARS Orgasm, but far more pigmented)
• Shameless: pinkish brown with gold shimmer (an NC50 version of NARS Orgasm)
• X-rated: rich raspberry matte (pinker version of MAC Frankly Scarlet blush)

Needless to say, application and technique matter when it comes to how a blush will make you look. Also, just because you hate a color doesn’t always mean it looks bad on you — you may just not be used to it and feel too overwhelmed or scared to even go there. Don’t clown yourself up by applying too much, just softly use that key amount to achieve a beautifully enhanced face. Easy.

I found these blushes to be very smooth and soft to the touch. They didn’t crumble when I swatched or bounced my brush into the product — and for $40 a piece, they better not. I’m very pleased with the luxurious packaging and the value of the product. I think if you’re a blush-freak and want something very special for your money, you’ll be very pleased with Rock and Republic’s line of blushes. Give them a try!
