So I got my MAC Style Curve lipstick last nite, and immediately snapped a few photos, comparison swatches, and tried it on. When I opened up, I immediately thought MAC accidentally sent me a Violetta lipstick instead lol. They're both very similar, but have subtle differences. They also have different finishes, which separates them, but again only slightly. Do you need both? Check out swatches and determine for yourself :)

Just wanted to do a really quick post for anyone wondering what a few of the newer MAC Stylishly Yours pigments look like on darker skin. I haven't been buying much makeup lately (don't worry, that will change lol), but ya'll know I'm a big pigment-whore. I also got that gorgeous Style Curve lipstick, but will swatch that later for you when it finally arrives ;)

Oh, Rock & Republic...how I adore thee! There isn't anything from the line that I've tried so far, and haven't loved or really liked. So far, it's a very solid cosmetic brand giving you your money's worth (and not many brands can deliver that). At first glance, all of the items are very pricey...but when you dig a little deeper and realize the great quality, packaging and overall awesomeness you're getting -- the prices are more than worth it. Just about every R&R product I've purchased has been from sort of sale. I recently picked up 12 of their eyeshadows, which I'll admit I wasn't in a big hurry to buy, but I'm glad I did. They're incredible.

I was watching QVC and saw the most adorable commemorative box of Philosophy's Limited Edition Hope in a Jar moisturizer -- a cult favorite (but screw the cult, I love this stuff whether they do or not). It was a big red textured, glittery box with the Oprah seal -- her baby picture imposed inside of her "O" logo, and a sweet little note from Philosophy to Oprah on the inside flap.

I'm writing this post while listening to my favorite Lady Gaga song, Alejandro..so if I accidentally type out the lyrics somewhere in this post, forgive me. I'm not your babe, Fernando. So I was recently contacted by Alima Pure -- a small mineral makeup company (based in Oregon) specializing a super wide range of foundations for the cool, the neutral, the olive, the warm and more. They also have a crapload of eyeshadow colors and cheek colors to boot! I'm very interested in their foundations because I am olive-toned, and you don't always find foundations for those specific skin-tones. I use Bare Minerals foundation in "Tan", and it works, but I'm really curious to see if I'd like Alima's "Olive" range better. Anyway, I was sent a few samples from their new holiday collection called "Fairy Tale".

To continue with my recent little Sephora F&F haul, here are three NARS blushes that I picked up as well. I absolutely love NARS blushes, they are super high on my favorite blush list. I had ten shades already, but there were about six more that I wanted and now that list is down to three. I picked up Lovejoy, Amour and Torrid. Each NARS blush retails for $26 -- and I remember the good ol' days when NARS blushes were $25 a pop *sigh*...whatever lol, that damn dollar makes a difference!
