In case you didn't know, Urban Decay (in light of the recession) is having their Friends & Family sale and you get to save a cool 30% off your entire order. Use code "1SFNF" from April 6th thru April 19th. I picked up a few things, of course. But let me just say, I absolutely LOVE Urban Decay, overall. I think they're a very strong brand. Their eyeshadow's are known for their pigmentation and vibrancy, and they've got great packaging. They have some of the most unique packaging I've seen as far as makeup goes, and as a designer totally appreciate it. This sale came out of nowhere for me, so I didn't get as much as I would've had I known it was coming. I could've been irresponsible and spent money on this sale instead of paying my rent...but looking like a fabulous hobo isn't exactly a goal of mine.

I seriously don't even know where to begin. I get so excited talking about this product. Ladies and gents, if you've ever spent years trying to find the perfect shade of foundation, you might luck up with this... Make Up For Ever (MUFE for short) makes a phenomenal HD foundation ($40) in a very wide range of shades -- twenty-five of them to be exact. It's sold at Sephora and the MUFE website, but on the Sephora site there is an extremely helpful "shade finder" tool that will help you narrow your choice down -- given you know your skin tone and undertone. I always knew I had an olive skin tone, I have lots of yellows in my skin and sometimes I look green in pictures...like this one for example...

Attention beautiful brown-skinned ladies! Any ridiculous claims that stress "we" cannot wear bright pink lipsticks, is absolutely false! I'm here to put that myth to rest, 12 feet under! If anything, your gorgeous chocolate hues were made for colors like this. While it's true that not everyone can wear the exact same pink or red, it's also true that everyone CAN wear certain shades of pinks and reds. Here I am rocking the lovely Petals & Peacocks (amplified - $14) lipstick from MAC's Give Me Liberty of London collection, which has already jumped into my pool of favorites.

This past Monday, I took an early morning stroll to Macy's to visit one of my favorite MAC counters at Metro Center (in DC) to get a closer look at the Give Me Liberty of London collection. The girls there are so sweet and helpful, and you just can't beat that kinda customer service. There's one really gorgeous chick in particular who always helps me, I sadly don't know her name but she's breathtaking! Anyway, she helped me decide what I should get from this collection. The gorgeous spring-inspired white packaging with soft flowers and cute little birds really stood out. Sometimes I'm a sucker for packaging and I know I shouldn't be..but if its super cute and unique, then dammit, I probably gotta have it.

Oh yes baby! One of my absolute 'Holy Grail' lipsticks from MAC would have to be the gorgeous Rebel (satin - $14). Described as a "vivid pinkish-purple", I have worn this baby out and don't plan on stopping anytime soon. It's one of the most gorgeous colors I've ever worn. It's a satin formula, which tends to be a little drying, but because this color is so beautiful I put up with it. But to be honest, I combat that by moisturizing the crap outta my lips prior to application to minimize the drying. This lipstick also stains a little...just a little. So even after you're done eating or drinking, it'll still be there, but it'll give your lips that "flushed" look. It's a very opaque shade, so you won't need to pile it on. My mom has tried this color and she loves it. I should buy her one so she can stop borrowing mine, but I'm telling you...brown girls, this color would look amazing on you!

I saw this collection online almost two months ago, and something inside me started shaking out of excitement. Either from that or all of that earl grey tea I had. I was overwhelmed by how HUGE this entire beast of a collection was. Mentally, I was all ready for it, but because of how let down I was with Hello Kitty (out of all that "cuteness", I wound up getting ONE item. Womp!), I knew I'd have to see this in person to really be able to get the full effect. I took a long lunch break and went to the MAC counter at Macy's by Metro Center. I walked around the entire counter maybe twice, because I just didn't see the damn thing. So I asked one of the girls where it was, and they had it in a corner hidden for some reason. She pulled everything out for me, and I immediately noticed how many of the colors looked like colors I already had. That was a disappointment, but not really -- saved me a few bucks!
