I am a complete sucker for bright, bold "in yo face" colors...so you know good and damn well I had to pick up some of the candy from the Dare to Wear collection by MAC. Sooo pretty, I'm all teeth right now, see? --> :D Anyway, I didn't buy everything, but I did get a handful of stuff to play with. I adore color, so this collection was right up my alley.

Better late than never right? To be honest I wanted to wait until I received my Stereo Rose MSF before I did this post just because I didn't wanna have to break this into two pieces. I felt this In The Groove collection was just okay -- I only bought five items. I already had two of the MSF's (Petticoat and Comfort), but not the "star" of the show, Stereo Rose. I heard about Stereo Rose a couple years ago and even back then, MSF starved folks everywhere were foaming at the mouths, selling their homes and children to get MAC to re-release it. When MAC first put it on the website, it sold out in like two hours. I missed out -- womp. Then a few days ago they put it back up on the website only to have it sell out again in less than an hour -- but this time I got mine ;)

(updated 8/21/10 w/ new swatches!) When my parents and I pulled up into their driveway today, my mom said "There's a package on the doorstep" and I just knew it was mine. I walked up to it, saw the HAUTELOOK tape wrapped around the small brown box and literally hit a Mariah Carey note of excitement. I knew exactly what it was! I grabbed my dog, tossed my box in the passenger seat and sped home to open my little box of joy in the form of Rock & Republic blushes ($40 each). I didn't order these directly from the Rock & Republic website...instead I got them half price on Hautelook! *poplocks with passion and conviction*

Heavens to Betsy! I finally got my Chanel fix in the form of a beautiful blue-based red lipstick called Paris from Chanel's Rouge Coco line. This lipstick is everything. Smooth, creamy, hydrating, super long lasting...and gorgeous. I have a serious love for beautiful blue-based red lipsticks, they are my favorite -- and Paris has wiggled her way into my top favorite reds. I picked this tube up at the Chanel counter at my local Macy's...after telling myself I wasn't gonna buy it anytime soon. Chanel lipsticks are expensive, and I just cannot go around spending $30 on a single tube of lipstick all willy-nilly...

I see you. You're outside standing under a 900-thread count blanket of heat and humidity. You're not happy. Your makeup is sliding off your face. You're sweating like a hooker in church. You're greasier than Jermaine Jackson in 1997. It's hotter than the rubber on the bottom of Precious's shoes after she stole that bucket of chicken and ran off to class like a bat out of hell. Miserable, huh? I hate this time of year! The east coast humidity is just...so ridiculous and unfair. You can stand outside and literally do nothing but stand...and start pouring buckets of sweat. That ain't right! I get so greasy and oily this time of year, so I needed something to soak up that oil like a Popeye's biscuit...and I found it!!!
