Oh boy, this took forever!! So many pictures. I’m exhausted. For those of you who follow me on twitter and have joined my facebook page (stab that “like” button, btw), you saw a few preview images from all the crap I bought from this massive MAC Venomous Villains collection. Monday night I raced home to make sure I’d be able to order everything I wanted before it sold out (which it did about 2 hours later). It was an exciting and stressful rush, because I always — ALWAYS miss out on stuff! Not this time *evil laugh*
MAC teamed up with Disney to create a bunch of mini collections within one huge collection, inspired by four of the most sinister and evil villains they’ve ever had — Maleficent (Sleeping Beauty), The Evil Queen (Snow White), Dr. Facilier (The Princess & The Frog), and last but not least Cruella De Vil (101 Dalmations). These are the villains (minus Dr. Facilier — I admit I still haven’t seen this movie lol) who scared the living crap out of me as a child and still give me the creeps to this day — especially Maleficent. Each one has a different look, and you can see all of the inspiration drawn from their evil attitudes, outfits, etc. in each collection. I am a HUGE kid when it comes to Disney movies. I still watch them to this day, curled up in bed with my dog. These are the movies that jump-started my imagination and have kept me youthful and kinda silly thru the years. So, I had to splurge. This was kind of a sentimental collection for me, I’ll admit.
This is my second (and last) huge MAC haul for the year. I allow myself two per year, otherwise I’d be eating ramen every single day…and that would be sad at my age lol. Also keep in mind that most of the items are priced around a dollar higher than normal because of licensing. Here’s what I purchased from each “villain”, if you see ** in front of it, that means I already owned it prior to this collection.

I also own the Penultimate Eye Liner, and I would’ve taken pics and swatched it, but I honestly got tired at this point lol.
I’m not too crazy about the product packing, its okay — not that exciting (but the product is awesome). The packaging is much sleeker than the normal MAC packaging, as in its shinier (think Bobbi Brown), and the illustrations from each character is stamped on each piece — no stickers! The boxes each piece came in is actually more fabulous than the product packaging lol. Each type of product has a different angle or view of the villains directly from the movie. Check out my photos below to see how for example, Maleficent is in a different capture on the mineralize eyeshadows, the lipstick and the gloss, making each item special.

So, I’m just gonna tell you right now that I love this collection — didn’t think I would, but I do. It’s adorable, it’s fierce, it’s sentimental, and everything is usable (for me at least).
MY FAVORITE ITEMS
- The magically cool liquid powder in Cajun is the coolest cosmetic product I’ve ever purchased. It literally feels like cold water on your skin, and I can’t stop playing with it. It gives you a beautiful soft finish with a very subtle sheen — looks amazing on the cheeks. I absolutely love it, do not sleep on this product you guys. I bought two of them because I know I’m gonna go thru that first jar quick!
- Wicked Ways lipglass is one of the most gorgeous colors I’ve seen in a very long time. I just wanna eat it. It’s beautiful. It literally looks like passion in a tube. If you put Wicked Ways over Heartless lipstick, your lips are gonna look like pure sex. Hot house is also gorgeous so if you didn’t get that one from the Strange Hybrid collection, get it now.
- Toxic Tale lipstick is scary as heck, but I truly love it. It’s super fierce with MAC’s Currant lip liner
- All three nail laquers are gorgeous. I know there are Orly dupes for two of them, but I don’t own any Orly so these are fine with me. Formidable! is my favorite color of the three. It’s beautiful!
- Both She Who Dares and My Dark Magic mineralize eyeshadows are so intense and so so pretty. I can’t wait to do a look with them. The blue area from She Who Dares does remind me of Blue Flame that came out with the Style Black collection, but I find it to run a tad darker.
I didn’t buy any of the single eyeshadows because I already have colors way too similar to them anyway. I’m contemplating buying a backup of Wicked Ways. I know me, and I know that I run thru shades like that quickly so it might be in my best interest to make a second trip to the MAC counter. I found the mineralize eyeshadows from the Maleficent collection to be very pigmented and smooth. I didn’t use a base for those swatches and they show up so well. Bite of an Apple blush is really pretty on the face, but if you have a coral blush already (ie. MAC Marine Life, Rock & Republic Immoral) then you aren’t going to die without it. It’s a bit more red than Marine Life, but at the end of the day the difference isn’t incredibly huge.
A bulk of this stuff arrived yesterday, but I was very unhappy with the swatches — and they’re still not great but they’re much better than the first ones I took. Sorry I’m posting this so late 
Most of the good stuff is sold out online, but check your local MAC stores and counters to see if they have anything left if you missed out. You never know!

I was a bit let down, just because I felt like the few things I was interested in were similar to things I already had.. no exact replicas mind you, but close enough to pass. And the pigmentation on some others wasn’t what I expected.
I did get a sample of Cajun though, which I will be playing around with later tonight.

yea i was a lil bummed by the single eyeshadows, i felt like they didnt even try. I wore Cajun on my cheeks today and wow, it’s such a beautiful subtle touch of color, like a light tan effect. Beautiful!
I agree, they didn’t try at all with the single eyeshadows… I was not pleased at all with them! And one of looks JUST like Coppering.. ugh lol

OMG what a haul!!!!! I didn’t haul anything online, so I waited til it came out at the counter and I am sooooo angry that I did cuz the most of what I wanted was sold out!!! I showed up an hour and some change after the counter opened and was sooo mad and sad!!! Oh well. I got Heartless, Violetta and Push the Edge. I also wanted Bite of an Apple and Bad Fairy too but beyotches got there before me and bought them all up. I hope MAC restocks them but I’m not holdin my breath. I hope you enjoy them and I’ll just live thru you!! LOL!!
Dang! To be honest, Bite of an Apple is gorgeous…but I’m sure MAC will release a shade similar very soon, it’s not OMGMUSTHAVE, but it is pretty. Maybe thats cuz i have Marine Life, which is kinda similar to it.

Girl your swatches always make everything look extra good! lol I was satisfied with what I got until I see ur post..I picked up BOA blush, Violetta lipstick, and My dark magic MES…I was eyeing Briar rose beauty powder but after swatching it at the counter it was just too sheer so I passed and it looks just like MAC Coygirl blush… think I might go back and check out wicked ways and wrong spell lipglass now..I was supposed to be through with this collection!
yea you gotta be careful swatching certain things because the results can throw you off. briar rose is difficult to swatch, but its beautiful on your face and quiet pigmented actually. very nice on the cheeks. i’ll be doing a few looks using as many of these products as i can. or i might make a separate in-use swatch post…which might be a better idea. wicked ways is everything!!!

Maaan, it would be easier to just say what I didn’t get from VV, and probably faster too! hee! Out. Of. Control.
I didn’t get the pigments (already had), the mirror(i’m vain enough as it is, lol), mascara, penultimate liner, or any of the small shadows, I thought about it, but can pass and get permanent dupes. I also didn’t get Mean & Green or Formidable (got the Orly dupes instead).
And that is all I didn’t get, lol!
This is the first collection I hauled ass on after Cult of Cherry and To the Beach, and the last one for the year for me. maybe. :-}

Im so glad were the same skin tone because its so much easier to see how products would look on me too lol I really want the wicked ways lipgloss but ur right its sold out online =( I hope I can find it at the counters it is so gorgeous! Darkly my dear almost resembles Raizin and I have to have the cajun powder
Raizin is a tad darker but DMD is really pretty and natural looking…but its not a must have. the cajun powder is everything!

I really couldn’t tell what was special with Cajun (couldn’t see a difference really). I’ll have to take another look. I didn’t even try Wicked Ways.
For some reason I can’t bring myself to buy the mineralize eyeshadows.
I did get Bite of an Apple, Briar Rose, Revenge is Sweet, and the nail polish.
Is Violeta a must have for a NC50? I tried it and it looked crazy alone but I didn’t think to put Revenge is Sweet on top like I saw on another blog.
Does Toxic Tale look super orange on your lips?
I figured Darkly My Dear might look like a bruise and didn’t even try it. How does it show up on you?

Toxic Tale looks LOUD lol but I tone it down with a liner, its a fierce shade! dont be afraid of it. Darkly My Dear is plummy brown on me. its very pretty and natural but not a must have

you can use them as bases, but work fast because they dry quickly. they’re gorgeous enough to wear alone too.

i bought bite of an apple and mineralize e/s….i should have got briar rose….did you use briar rose as a blush or all over face powder?
briar rose is very pigmented for a beauty powder, i use it on top of bite of an apple blush and its gorgeous.

I just discovered you blog, I love it! I hit up my MAC counter today, and shockingly I don’t think they were sold out of a single thing. I picked up Revenge Is Sweet, Wrong Spell, & both of the mineralize shadow duos, and I also ordered Violetta online which I’m still waiting for. After looking at your swatches I’m definitely going back for Push the Edge bc purple is my color! I’m considering the nail laquers, I’m not much for painted nails but those are just sooo pretty!

OMG!!! I purchased about everything in this haul!! I have worn red lipstick in 15 or so years, but I will be wearing it going forward. I love the cajun powder, it feels so great on my face…I can not wait until I wear all the things that I purchased. They were sold out of the nail polish, but I called my cousin in Boston and she picked them up for me, one of each color!

I bought the Bite of an Apple blush since I’m getting more comfortable with brighter colors on my face. It’s so PRETTY. My first go around though I applied it with a heavier hand like I was channeling Thea. I looked like the Saw doll
I also got the Formidable lacquer, it’s just so…mesmerizing…and the Melon pigment. I have one that’s similar but it’s not as..sheeny? lol
I wanted to get more but these school loans are breakin my back….and my bank.
