I’m still excited from MAC’s latest Disney inspired collection “Venomous Villains“, mainly due to me being a big child at heart. I even went to my parents house today because I realized I was missing my Sleeping Beauty DVD and it’s not at their house either *sad face*, so I dunno where it is! I’m heartbroken, it’s my all-time favorite Disney classic. I used to watch that movie every single day when I was little and re-enact the entire thing with my friends. It was an adorable obsession, so seeing the movie now at the near age of 30 just makes me feel warm and fuzzy and takes me back to the days when I let the ugly lil neighborhood kid kiss me to wake me up LMAO! Anyway, Maleficent was definitely my favorite overall collection, and I wanted to do a simple look using the gorgeous mineralize eyeshadow “My Dark Magic”.

EYES

  • MAC Slick Black greasepaint stick — as a base, blended out with 217 brush
  • MAC My Dark Magic mineralize eyeshadow — the darker purple side all over the lid / also on outer 2/3 lower lashline; the hot fuchsia side in the crease
  • MAC Helium pigment — brow highlight
  • MAC Brash & Bold pigment — inner 1/3 lower lash line
  • Urban Decay 24/7 Zero liner on upper and lower waterline
  • Lancome Hypnose mascara on upper and lower lashes

FACE

  • MAC Dark MSF all over face
  • MAC Bite of an Apple blush – just on apples of cheeks
  • MAC Briar Rose beauty powder on top of Bite of an Apple, blended up towards temples

LIPS

*moisturize with your favorite balm, I used Rosebud Salve

  • MAC Violetta lipstick
  • MAC Revenge is Sweet lipglass

for the second lip look:

  • MAC Currant lip liner
  • MAC Toxic Tale lipstick
  • MAC Revenge is Sweet lipglass

This look is pretty dark and dramatic, but very sultry. Perfect for a night out — or a night in, hehe ;) The greasepaint stick is such a nice base for pretty much any eyeshadow you put on top, and most of the colors are beautiful when worn alone. I used a MAC 217 brush to blend the edges so that it wasn’t such a harsh line, then with a 239 brush I patted the shadow on top — which also helps the *sparkles* show up better in person. Briar Rose is beautifully pigmented, but I had to tone it down because it was waaay too much initially so you may not even see it that well in the pictures due to the flash, but it’s there!

For the second lip look, there’s an example of how you can tone down the super loud being that is known as Toxic Tale. Currant and any other wine colored lip liner really tone it down and make it more wearable. It’s still beautiful alone but I wanted to give you an option in case you’re too chicken to wear it by itself LOL ;)

I’m gonna go work on some more blog posts, I’ve got a few things to review and swatch for you all but until then, have an awesome Saturday!

-Stay beautiful
