It’s been a long time since I’ve done a Pink on Brown lip. I’d say about 70% of my lipsticks are in the pink family, so finding a pink to use for this series isn’t exactly hard. My problem is that I can never make up my mind which pink I wanna do next, knowing that I’m gonna eventually go thru them all. Terrible. So here’s a pink that I adore from MAC called Lickable (cremesheen). It’s a pretty blue-based cool pink, with lots of shiny agents thrown in for good measure.

I really, really love this color. It’s one of my favorite bright Barbie pink colors, without being too ashy or frosty. It’s really pretty on light-medium dark skin-tones. If you’re darker, you may wanna line your lips with a more fuchsia/magenta liner, then softly blend so there’s a gradual transition. Or you could just apply a slightly darker pink gloss on top.
It’s a cremesheen, which basically means its a creamy-sheen lol. I find all lipsticks drying to some degree, no matter the formula — so as always, you’d be better off wearing a balm underneath any lip color to prevent Malik Yoba lips
In other news, it’s obviously time to wax my mustache LMAO!

So I have been trying to brighten up my lips for a while now, when you have smaller lips it is essential to make them fuller. I have tried many things but I have found that layering products works best.
The key is finishing up with the lip gloss, but I’ve never thought to go darker or lighter based on the bottom color. If you want your lips to POP, what would be the best lip gloss color/style to use???
I do not want my gloss to cover up or clash with my lip color….ah! what should I do?
try using a clear gloss Cara. Clear gloss on top of a bold color really makes the lips look extra juicy.
Once again very very pretty, you wear color so well, I’m jealous.
Thanks Sherri, u could rock this one too!
Wow, this is right on time. I have some thinsg to B2M this week and I’m torn between Lickable and GAT. Sad to say, I still can’t decide. Both are gorgeous!
get both!!
I’m a brown girl who was once scared of reds and pinks but now i *heart* them! They’re so funky and cute!
lol I used to be too. But a nice pink/red lip is fab ain’t it?
yes! i love hearing WOC proclaim their love for bold colors.
Lovely. I always liked a pink lip, red is where I have trouble! I’ve got to try this! It looks amazing on you. BTW could you tell me what eye shadow u’ve got on, I love it!
Hey Mandy! I was wearing Warming Trend by MAC on my lid, and a really dark brown by MUFE, i can’t remember the number, but its a really really dark smokey brown color.
Im loving this color girl!!
Girl, you need to buy this one if you don’t have it. It would look amazing on your pretty ass face!
I think Lickable is one of those staple colors that looks great on everyone. I’m the complete opposite end of the color spectrum and I love it too– and think it looks BEAUTIFUL on you!
Thank you Allie, i agree! It’s beautiful for everyone
I just found your blog and I love it!
I think this looks really pretty on you. I have Lickable and wear it with Current liner. I like the contrast of the darker liner and the brighter lipstick.
Lickable and Currant is gorgeous together. thanks for stopping by!
Resha! Stop it right now. That color is too nice. What’d you line with?
Cara, if you want your lips to POP, do you mean pop in terms of color or size (i.e., a fuller looking lip)?
If color, try good ol’ lipglass. It’s sticky as hell, so any high-gloss clear alternative will do just fine. I’ve also found that “nude” (I hate that term!) or neutral, sheer lipglosses compliment so many colors as well. It won’t take away from the color if it’s sheer enough.
If size, try SLIGHTLY lining your lips just on the outside of your natural lip line. Very very very very slightly because it can get scary really fast
But anyway, line on the outside of your top lip and line your lip on the natural line on the bottom, only going outside of your lip right in the center of your bottom lip. Next, try using different colors to create dimension: darker on the outside, and slightly lighter toward the middle of both lips. Including your liner, use colors that are in the same family, and this should give you a nice plump lip!
HTH
LOL I didn’t line this time, but a good liner for this would be NYX’s Bloom lip liner. its PERFECT w/ lickable!
Love this color!
its sooo pretty!
What’s your skin tone?
So you wouldn’t rec a brown liner like Cork with that?
you could, but you’d really have to blend to avoid that obvious doo-doo-brown liner look. but that goes for any liner lol
Resha I have some B2M I need to turn in, and I have been eyeing lickable. I just have so many bright pinks, from GAT, Petals & Peacocks, Full Fuschia, Perpetual Flame, and now from the new Stylishly Yours collection Something New, and from the new Peacocky collection Scandelicious which I’m wearing today. OMG how many pinks can a girl have, and I’m a NC50 sometimes NC55.
wow you look so pretty in that color. I am recently becoming a makeup addict and I bought this color
I should start wearing bright colors already. I was wondering where you bought those lovely earrings. Hope you reply. Keep up the wonderful work.
