I have sooo many NYX eyeshadows it’s not even funny. Because I’m dedicated to helping you guys out, I’m going to slowly swatch them in batches so those of you who are looking for great inexpensive ways to beat your face, can know what to expect. NYX is one of my favorite low-end brands, and they seem to get more things right than wrong. A while ago I bought several of their Ultimate Pearl Shadows ($7) when they went on sale (I don’t remember how much I paid), and for the most part they’re pretty damn decent.
The Ultimate Pearl Shadows all have a smooth shimmery formula (supposedly they have even more shimmer now), and they blend quite nicely. The texture is soft, not chalky. NYX states that these shadows are hypo-allergenic and cruelty-free. They all feature a cute quilted pattern and in the case they’re about the size of a silver dollar. You get 0.11 oz. of product (twice the amount of a MAC eyeshadow) for $7 a piece. Most of the colors are pretty pigmented, I took each swatch with one swipe except for Green-Eyes Pearl (I had to use two swipes to get that one to show up properly), and I didn’t use a base on my arm.

Overall, I really like these shadows and plan to do a few looks with them soon. My favorite shades are the Gold, Blonde, Sahara, Silver and Black shades for everyday wear. The others are great for doing subtle bright looks. I think there’s something here for everyone. These shadows are a great deal you guys, check them out if you’re into inexpensive cosmetics. They’d even pack more of a punch if you apply them over a good base.
In other news, I’m sick in bed right now, feeling like complete and utter crap. I don’t catch colds but maybe 1-2 times a year, and when I do it’s bad! I feel like death warmed up in a sippy cup right about now. Hopefully I can swatch some more stuff for you guys tomorrow, depending on how I feel

THANK YOU! I’ve been wanting to try some of these shadows, but I’m forced to buy online. As we know, NYX online swatches SUCK, so I didn’t know which one I should try. I am just about your color. Which one do you think would make a good natural highlight color?

I found this on clearance at a fragance store that had a large NYX display. They were on clearance for 2 bucks. I got the Gold and Bronze. I think they are great, very pigmented, and such a good price.
