Rock & Republic has been selling their entire cosmetic line for 50% off for quite some time (not much is left). I picked up quite a few blushes and a lipgloss, but I wanted to try their Pressed Powder ($44). The color I bought is called Chenille, and like their blushes it’s super soft and finely-milled. Rock & Republic is killing the competition in the blush area, but what about their pressed powders?
- Silky, smooth texture
- Fine jet-milled powder
- Contains Vitamin E to restore the skins balance
- Oil absorbing
- Provides sheer to medium coverage

For your reference, my foundation shades…
- in MAC — NW43
- in MUFE HD — #173 Amber
- in Chanel Mat Lumiere — Walnut
- in Revlon Colorstay — Caramel
They come in a variety of shades that should suit most skin tones — although whatever you see on the site is all they have left. What I really love is that although this powder is a shade lighter than me, it doesn’t show up that way. It actually disappears into my skin leaving virtually no obvious traces of color, making it very blendable. I don’t look chalky or cakey or ashy at all. So if you’re shopping for one of these and you’re not sure what your shade will be, just pick whatever you feel is the closest according to the swatches on their site (which aren’t too far off) and I bet it’ll work.
The powder itself is super luxurious and fine, so it almost acts as a translucent setting powder. It’s great for touching up the face after an oil spill lol. There’s virtually no scent to these, which I like. I have moderately sensitive skin, and this powder hasn’t irritated me at all. I absolutely love the packaging — it looks expensive (and it is), but getting this powder for 50% off is fab.
Rock & Republic has burst into the makeup world heavily since their stuff has been on sale for up to 60% off. Beauty fanatics everywhere have been buying all of their inventory up like the end of the world was near. But who can blame them? These products are incredible you guys, you’re really getting your money’s worth. Their blushes are now my hands-down favorite to use (sorry NARS) — I still love my NARS and MAC blushes, but if something is better for me then it just is. Maybe one day I’ll slow down on my R&R blushes and start showing love to my beloved NARS and MAC blushes again. Oh! — I usually carry around my Urban Decay De-slick Mattifying powder, but since I’ve gotten this I haven’t had it in my makeup bag for almost two weeks. See how shady one can be when the grass is a lil greener? *hangs head in shame*
I need my ass kicked…
-Stay beautiful

I love their shadows, but have the worst luck buying powders or tinted primers from them online. The powder was waaay too light and the primer was way to dark (and orange). I shake my little fist at online ordering and computer monitor variations in color!!!
(>.<) (m)
One day R&R, one day you will match me!! :-p
to dark? too! too! :-p
LOL i just picked up a primer of theirs to try out, I’ll probably have problems with it too because I couldn’t really see what my color was. Oh well, if i hate it i’ll just sell the damn thing.
Girl, now you have me wanting this.
I really like it! The texture is amazing and it takes the shine off very well
but there are cheaper powders out there so if you dont wanna drop $22 for it, I more than understand.
…aand i just submitted my order on this joint too. smh at my burgeoning PJ self.
But!
- at half off its almost 10 bucks cheaper than the UD mattifying powder I was eyeing
- colorwise it oughta work cus i can do colorstay in caramel as well. and the packaging = sweet
- I needed a tinted pressed powder, cause as much as I love my MUFE HD powder it can show up a tanch ghostly in pics and it dont travel well (a.k.a. my dumbass will spill it in my bag and I dont need to get questioned w white powder on my person. )
- shipping is a dollar.
-THE PROMO CODE WORKS, THANK YOU RESHA
LMAO i feel u about the white cast! Although we all know you need a tiny bit, it can be hard to get a little of the product because of how they dispense it.
and you’re welcome!!
All but one of the blush colors is sold out! I did buy X-rated earlier in the sale (does look pretty fab on my pale skin in moderation) but I wish I’d bought more!
Keep checking back because i’ve seen them restock the colors many times during this sale. Not sure if they’ll do it again but you never know
And make sure you join the private sales I have listed in the sidebar because some of them sell R&R for insane prices too!
They just restocked and the sale is still on, so I’d go for it.
Thanks so much!! This will help WOC so much. I couldn’t (in 10+ google search pages) find one review or swatch of the darker shades. Plus, this review is comprehensive and great as always. I heart you!
You’re welcome Azia!!! I did this all for you boo and I heart you back <3
Hey! Thanks for the swatches. I’m a NW43 and I was debating between Chenille and Angora, but I wear MUFE 175, and CS Walnut and 173 are too yellow and light for me so I went ahead and ordered Angora. I’m hoping it won’t be too dark.
Hmmm you wouldn’t happen to wear the MSFN by chance? I wear Dark and maybe if you told me if that works for you I could figure it out. R&R would probably let me change my order as of now.
Hey Resha do u knw if this brand is available in e UK??I think I need to try this, thanx for sharing&e compact is so pretty, love it
Just discovered it!
I ordered the powder in Cashmere yesterday via Hautelook and I’m anxious to receive it. I’m nervous about the color because it’s just so hard to tell on screen. Realizing that you picked Chenille makes me think I went to light, although Chenille has red undertones while Cashmere has gold. We shall see. If all else fails, I will use it has a highlighter.
to be honest, it’s kinda sheer so it may work if you use it lightly.
