Hautelook recently had a nice NYX sale, so I was held at lipgloss-point to purchase a few items. I had to! I picked up two of their newest palettes in Nude on Nude Natural Look Kit and Purple Smokey Look Kit ($11 each). These little bundles of joy come with 9 eyeshadows, 2 lip colors and a tiny lip brush and sponge-tip applicator. They’re both about the size of a MAC mineralize blush and to be so cheap, they pack a nice punch.

Pretty sweet, huh?
PROS
- Affordable
- Great pigmentation
- Smooth, blendable shades
- Compact and great for travel
- Lots of fabulous looks with each palette
- Smart compact design separates eyeshadows from the cream lip colors to avoid a mess
CONS
- Some shades are more pigmented than others, the ones that aren’t that pigmented are really blah
- The eyeshadows have no names, numbers or descriptions
- The lip colors aren’t that exciting
- The applicators are a nice gesture, but a waste of time and space — they’re far too tiny to use
OVERALL
The Nude on Nude palette is a nice little dupe for the elusive Urban Decay Naked Palette, featuring very similar shades and finishes. None of the shadows are overly shimmery or glittery, in fact they have a nice satiny sheen and then there’s a few mattes. The texture of each shadow is very soft, smooth and blendable. I’d say that the pigmentation is really nice! The Nude palette has good pigmenation, the Purple Smokey palette has good pigmentation, except two of the shades. Oddly enough, the second shadow from each palette (blueish purple and taupe) is very sheer and took a bit of effort for me to get it to show up, other than that it’s nice. As for the lip colors, they’re also very sheer and for someone like me who loves a bold lip, I wouldn’t even waste my time using those lol.
I think these palettes would be a great addition to any makeup addicts collection, especially a beginner who may have difficulty trying to arrange eyeshadow combinations and looks — this takes out the guess work. At $11 each, you’re getting your money’s worth. Yes — they’re small, but there’s enough product in each shadow to last you quite a while. If you can’t afford the Urban Decay Naked Palette then you should definitely pick the Nude on Nude palette up, because it’s essentially the same idea and lots of the colors are similar to Urban Decay’s.
I’m pleasantly surprised by these palettes and can’t wait to use them in upcoming looks 
Now I gotta get back to this dope “A Different World” marathon on TV-One. I LOVE this show and they’re about to play the episode when Dwayne busts in on Whitley’s wedding and begs her to marry him instead of Byron. Best moment in television history!

Instead I got the Bronze kit. It is nice and I really like it but now I really want the Nude kit.

I had been wanting to get these two palettes for a while..then I was in Ulta and finally saw them in person. They are so small! lol I couldn’t believe..every pic I saw on the web I thought they were much bigger! lol Any how they still look pretty pigmented and nice
yes they are sooo little, i too thought they were bigger! which is why i felt it was important to let ya’ll know just how big they were. but, i really like the fact i can grab this on the go, its convenient.

I think I’ll get the NYX Nude on Nude because the UD Naked palette did not work out for me. Had too much fall out and about only three colors that worked for my NW45 complexion. Thanks for posting these.
to avoid fall-out you should pat the shadow on instead of wiping it on. pretty much any shadow will give you fall out. esp the more pigmented and blendable ones. i use a really cheap powder under my eye to catch the fall out and it works really nicely. have you tried that method?

I ordered a quite of few things from that Hautelook NYX sale and I still haven’t gotten it yet. I order the purple one, a 5 single color set and the lipgloss set. I can’t wait until they get here. They got shipped out last Thursday. Thanks!
Great haul. I love that episode. They don’t make tv shows like that anymore. Although I like reality tv. I miss these old shows so much.
Could we please, see what it looks like on you? I was mega-excited when I saw you did a review on the purple smokey eyeshadow because my skin tone is similar to yours. I love seeing the makeup on your face but I notice you don’t do that so often.. you’d rather just do swatches. Why?

i am soo in love with the colors. And the lip products are beautiful
